Day five of our unforgettable Immersion Project. As usual, we were split into two groups and the girls who went to the Mary Rice Centre made paper roses and cards in preparation for Valentine's Day.In India, Valentine's Day is a week long celebration, each day with a different theme. Today was ... Kiss Day (but don't worry parents - cheek only ;)
We made friendship bracelets in St George's, which went down well with the kids as we were swarmed by eager children wanting a bracelet or a ring. We finished the day with a two hour long intensive basketball match. We teamed up with the Cork boys to play against some older students from St. George's. Its with great sadness that we admit that Ireland suffered a grand defeat, the score was 32-9... not to us.
After yet another incredible day we took the metro home and spent the evening outside on the monkey bars in St Mary's sharing our experiences from that day and some volunteered to help out in the soup kitchen for the disadvantaged people of Kolkata.
Until next time,
XOXO
